Weekend house at the lake Balaton

Featured, Houses, Images

A very interesting project was to design a modern style weekend house in a small city next to the lake Balaton. We decided to make a ‘mini competition’ in the office so our client could choose from different designs. Finally my design was chosen so the final plans were made based on that.

New Cultural Centre in Budapest

Featured, Images

The 15th district of Budapest organised a national competition for ideas renovating the central area of the district. The main goal was to design a new public area made by the excellent garden designer team of Pagony. The second task was to design a Cultural Centre which integrates to the new area.  This building was designed and visualised by me.

Our entry won second prize on the competition out of 65 works.

EU information point in Budapest

Featured, Houses

The European Union decided to build ‘Information Points’ in the capitols of EU countries to help people to get information easier about the EU. Also some cultural events as concerts, exhibitions and lectures take place here. The first of this kind of Information Points were made in Budapest.

Our goal was to create a friendly – not businesslike – place where people can have a coffee and can read some useful information about the EU or one of the newspapers of a few European countries.

The main counter which serves the information and the café as well was made of prefabricated concrete. Some traditional elements were used as modernized pieces of old furniture – bench and table – and cement tiles which has 100 years of tradition alongside iconic modern furniture.

Next to the stairs an exciting Hungarian invention was used – a partition wall made of translucent concrete showing the contours of the visitors climbing the stairs.

Our work was published in leading Hungarian architecture magazines as Octogon and Atrium.
